Losing a loved one to death is sadly something that we will all experience in this life until it is our time to leave. Even if you know that they have been ill for some time and their death is expected, it doesn’t make it any easier at all. When the death does finally happen, it does generally come as a complete surprise even though the expectation was there. You now have to deal with your grief and to make things even more difficult, if you are the head of the household then it’s likely that all of the last wishes of the deceased had been left up to you to put into place.
This is a lot of responsibility to put onto anyone shoulders and there are so many things that need to be done. If your family member has requested that they get cremated and if they haven’t stipulated what kind of last resting place that they would like then it’s up to you to take the time to look at some cremation urns and then make the final decision. There are many different patterns to choose from and so if you know the kind of person that they were then hopefully you can choose wisely.
In order to be able to create the best send off for any family member following are just some essential tips.
- Follow their wishes – It doesn’t matter how strange or how unreasonable that the final requests are because it is what they wanted and so it is your job to make sure that you follow their wishes to the letter. Obviously you want to stay on the right side of the law and so if any of their final wishes involve you breaking it then you might want to reconsider and maybe choose a better option.
- Include your family – This is a very difficult time for any individual and so involving your other family members can help to take a little bit of the responsibility off your shoulders and put some of it onto theirs. They have always been there for you to write your own life and so they will be more than happy to help you when trying to create the best send off for a family member.
It never gets easy when someone dies and if you are finding it difficult to carry out their last wishes then try to put yourself in their situation and how you would feel if you left a list of instructions and people didn’t even bother to consider them.
